What this site stores

The letters you type never leave your browser. The dictionary is a set of plain files; your browser downloads the lengths it needs and searches them locally. There is no search endpoint on this site, so there is nothing for your letters to be sent to — that is a property of how the tool is built, not a policy anyone has to keep.

In your browser

• Your choice of light or dark theme, under the key lp:theme. Nothing else is written, and clearing site data removes it.
• The dictionary files the tools fetched, in the ordinary browser cache.

Counted, without identifying anyone

Visits are counted first-party and without cookies or identifiers: the day, whether the browser has been here before (a date this browser stored for itself, never an id we assigned), the page, the referrer, the device kind, the language and the country. There is no cross-site tracking, no fingerprint and no third-party analytics tag. The beacon waits until the page has been visible for a couple of seconds or you have actually used it, so that automated traffic does not count as an audience.

This site carries advertising, and the slots sit below the answer rather than above it. Ad code comes from the networks named in /ads.txt. We do not build a profile of you here and we do not sell anything about you, because we do not collect anything to sell.
